Mr. Mabry earned his Bachelor of Arts from New York University in English and English Education. Afterwards he moved to San Diego, California and taught at his high school alma mater, Torrey Pines High School. “Mr. G” has been a music teacher in New York City since 2006, and began his career at Celia Cruz in 2013. Ever since he started playing saxophone at 9 years old, he knew that music was what he wanted to do for a living. He then studied music education, earning a bachelors degree at the SUNY Fredonia School of Music, a master’s degree at Queens College, and an advanced degree in Education Administration from the College of St. Rose. Aside from music making and working with the Celia Cruz students, Mr. G is an avid New York Rangers fan and loves spending time with his family.
Vern Ram has been a staff member of the Celia Cruz High School of Music since the school opened its doors in July 2003. Most recently, Mr. Ram held positions at Celia Cruz as the school counselor and School Business Manager. Mr. Ram started his career at the Office of the Superintendent of Bronx High Schools in 1994. Mr. Ram received his Bachelor of Arts and Master in Education at Herbert H. Lehman College. He also earned his second Master in School Leadership at Mercy College.
